Two men charged over firearms offence in Kirkby

Two men from Merseyside have been charged with possession of a firearm.
Phillip Smith, 27, and Christian Thomas, 34, both from Kirkby, have been arrested and charged following increased police activity in the area.
Patrols had been stepped up following a shot being fired near St Laurence School in Southdene, Kirkby, on Friday. No-one was injured.
The two men are due to appear at Liverpool and Knowsley Adult Remand Court later.
