Salford shootings leave two men injured

Two men have suffered gunshot wounds in attacks in Salford.

Police received a report an 18-year-old had arrived at hospital with pellet wounds to his left arm and leg, midriff and back around 20:40 GMT on Sunday.

Shortly after, a 26-year-old man arrived with an arm wound. Neither had life-threatening injuries.

Officers have increased patrols following the attacks which took place in the Irlams o' th' Height area of the city.

Ch Supt Kevin Mulligan said he believed the pair may have been targeted.

"We want to reassure people that we do not believe this is a random attack," he said.

"Extra officers will be on patrol in the area to offer reassurance and address any concerns that residents have."
