Pedestrian 'critical' after collision in Cardiff centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was critically injured in a collision with a car in Cardiff.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old man, was taken to University Hospital of Wales in the city where his condition is described as "critical but stable".

The incident happened on the A470 North Road at its junction with A4161 Kingsway at 1830 GMT on Thursday.

South Wales Police said the blue Fiesta driver was not injured.

Witnesses are asked to call police on 02920 571600.
