Woman injured in 'ferocious' fire in Edinburgh
Published: 4th Jan 2011 07:10:10
A pensioner was taken to hospital with serious burns after what fire crews described as a "ferocious" blaze in a tenement in Edinburgh.
Two other people were hurt in the fire, which broke out in a first-floor flat in the Meadows at 1515 GMT on Monday.
A 79-year-old woman was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, then transferred to the burns unit at St John's Hospital in Livingston.
A man and a woman were taken to hospital with less serious injuries.
The cause of the fire in Argyle Park Terrace is under investigation.
